Advanced Placement (AP) Program

College Board's Advanced Placement Program is a nationwide program partnering with colleges, universities, and high schools to provide students the opportunity to take college-level classes and exams while still in high school. Students who earn a qualifying grade on the AP exam have the opportunity to earn college credit or placement allowing them to excel in the college admissions process. AP is accepted by more than 3,600 colleges and universities worldwide. All Advanced Placement courses offered at Citrus Park Christian School are College Board approved.

Dual Enrollment

Dual Enrollment allows eligible high school students who meet CPCS requirements to enroll in postsecondary courses. Students earn credit toward high school graduation and, at the same time, earn credit toward a college degree. Students may participate in Dual Enrollment at the following institutions: Hillsborough Community College, University of South Florida, Clearwater Christian College, St. Petersburg College. All courses must be approved by the Administration.

Florida Virtual

The Florida Virtual School (FVS) offers online high school curricula, including limited AP course selections. CPCS students may enroll in Florida Virtual classes which are not offered through our course selection. See your guidance counselor for more information.

Testing Requirements

Students will have many opportunities to test and prepare for SAT and ACT testing. Freshmen, sophomores and juniors take the PSAT in October and the PLAN in November of each year. CPCS strongly encourages students to take the SAT/ACT beginning in their junior year to ensure ample opportunity for retesting and improving their scores.

College-Level Examination Program (CLEP)

CPCS students with strong content background in a subject area can earn credit through an examination program administered by the college they attend. The College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) allows you to demonstrate your knowledge in a wide range of subjects. Candidates for CLEP include students who have completed an AP course but did not earn a qualifying score of the AP exam, or who have taken several courses in one particular subject area. For more information, contact your guidance counselor or the admissions office at the postsecondary institution in which your student wants to enroll.
